Charles Oliveira is a Brazilian professional MMA fighter and current UFC BMF Champion, widely considered one of the most dangerous finishers in the history of the sport. Born October 17, 1989, in Guarujá, São Paulo, he grew up in poverty and began training Brazilian jiu-jitsu as a teenager, earning a 4th degree black belt. After a turbulent early UFC run, Oliveira went on an 11-fight winning streak that culminated in him capturing the UFC Lightweight title at UFC 262 in May 2021. He holds the UFC all-time records for most submission victories (22), most finishes (21), and most post-fight bonuses (21). After losing the lightweight title to Islam Makhachev in 2022, Oliveira returned to win the UFC BMF title by defeating Max Holloway at UFC 326 in March 2026.
