Dustin Poirier is an American former professional MMA fighter from Lafayette, Louisiana, considered one of the greatest lightweights of all time. Born January 19, 1989, of Cajun heritage, Poirier competed professionally from 2009 to 2025, building a legacy of memorable fights across 16 years in the sport. He won the interim UFC Lightweight title in 2019 and challenged for the undisputed title three times against Khabib Nurmagomedov and Charles Oliveira. He delivered two of the biggest upsets in UFC history with back-to-back knockout victories over Conor McGregor at UFC 257 and UFC 264, and is tied for the most Fight of the Night awards in UFC history (10).
