Israel "The Last Stylebender" Adesanya is a Nigerian-New Zealand MMA fighter born July 22, 1989, in Lagos, competing in the UFC Middleweight division. He trains at City Kickboxing in Auckland under Eugene Bareman. A former kickboxer who fought over 80 times before entering the UFC, Adesanya rose to become the two-time UFC Middleweight Champion, with iconic wins over Robert Whittaker (KO), Anderson Silva, Kelvin Gastelum, and two against Alex Pereira. His nickname comes from his love of the anime Avatar: The Last Airbender. His UFC career also includes an UFC Hall of Fame fight — the 2019 epic with Kelvin Gastelum — and the first Puma sponsorship deal ever signed by an MMA athlete.
