Kyle "The Monster" Nelson is a Canadian MMA fighter born April 20, 1991, in Huntsville, Ontario, competing in the UFC Lightweight division out of Stoney Creek, Ontario. He trains at House of Champions and fights as a switch-hitter — comfortable from both stances. Inspired by the film Rocky at the age of four, he eventually found his way into kickboxing and jiu-jitsu, turned professional in 2012, and built his name across the Canadian regional scene, winning the Elite1 MMA Featherweight Championship and defeating former TUF winner Jonathan Brookins. After a difficult start in the UFC, Nelson has rebuilt into one of the more consistent Canadian lightweights on the roster, going 4-1 in his last five UFC appearances with wins over Blake Bilder, Fernando Padilla, Bill Algeo and Matt Frevola.
